Immerse yourself in some of the greatest chamber music of the romantic period, from the evocative and passionate Spanish landscape of Turina’s Piano quartet, to the operatic splendour of Strauss’ Violin Sonata, and culminating in Brahms’s epic Piano Trio in B major. All performed by some of Canada’s greatest chamber musicians including JUNO award winner Philip Chiu, Peabody Trio founding violinist Violaine Melançon, Edmonton Symphony Concertmaster Robert Uchida, and violinist Hao Zhou of the Banff International Competition winning Viano Quartet.

You will be guided through a tasting of wines from across the Okanagan, insightfully presented by UBC lecturer Katarina Vucic alongside dynamic musical performances. This is a 19+ event.

The complete troupe of ClassicalValley’s resident artists will come together for a blockbuster finale featuring Mendelssohn’s timeless and celebrated String Octet. Additionally, our resident pianists, Meagan Milatz and Philip Chiu, will perform a selection of Schumann’s works for piano 4-hands, and festival co-director Nicholas Denton Protsack will premiere an original composition for two cellos and piano, specially written to celebrate the second edition of our festival. This spectacular conclusion to ClassicalValley 2023 will not be one to miss!
